The term Hydrocephalus is derived from the Greek words (Hydro means water and cephalus means head). Hydrocephalus may be congenital or acquired. Congenital Hydrocephalus is present at birth and may be caused by either envoirmental influences during fetal developmental or genetic predisposition.
